Cool chicken with mixed vegetables is one of healthy recipes for dinner. Nutritionally balanced and easy to prepare. `2`Using cooked chicken breast, cucumber, onion, carrot as main ingredients, add kinds of seasoning as flavor. This food can serve with everyone.
What is cool chicken? Cool chicken is boiled chicken that you wait it to cool.
Low fat cooking method? This cooking method can remove more fat from the meat. During the cooking process, we pull out boiled liquid of chicken from the pot after boiling 1-2 minutes. Certainly, you can keep the more fat of the chicken by boiling less time, such as 10-20 second.
What is cool vegetable? Cool vegetables are the raw vegetable dip in boiled water to blanch for a short time and drain the water out and let them cool.
What vegetables can we put or mix with the cook chicken? Usually, we can use cabbage, carrots, sweet peppers, onions, green onions, kelp, celery and cucumbers. Raw cucumbers and green onions can mix with cool chicken without cooking. The rest of them can be dipped in the boiling water to blanch for ½ to 1 minute. However, cucumber also can dip in boiled water to blanch with other vegetables if you like.
How many kind of vegetable can we cooked with cool chicken? You can choose 1-2 vegetable as flavor, such as, onion, green onion, or cucumber. If you need less protein and need more vegetables, you can put 3-5 kinds of vegetables.
How much volume vegetable should we mix with chicken? If you need more protein, such as active individual, teenagers, college students, you can add more cool chicken in with less vegetable. If you are senior or attempt to lose weight, you can add more vegetables with less cook chicken.
The below is an example recipe for your reference (Half chicken and half vegetables)
Ingredients:
½ Chicken breast
½ small cucumber
1 carrot
¼ medium onion
½ pepper (option)
1 tbs. Oyster sauce,
½ cup boiled water,
¼ tsp. white pepper,
½ tsp. salt,
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sesame oil.
Direction:
- put chicken breast in boiling water for 1-2 minutes and pull the water out to remove much fat. Then put the chicken breast in boiling water again for about 25 minutes. Cool the cooked chicken, and slice by hand or fork.
- Slice carrot, onion, cucumber and put in the boiling water to boil for ½ to 1 minute and take it out and put in the cool water for half minute, then drain the water out.
- Prepare flavor sauce. 1 tbs. Oyster sauce, ½ cup boiled water, ¼ tsp. white pepper, ½ tsp. salt, 1 tsp. brown sugar,1 tsp. vinegar,1 tsp. soy sauce, 1 tsp. sesame oil.
- Top with white sesame seed if you desired and sesame oil before eat.
